You could either do a formula in column E (shown at 00:40) as the score out of 16, for example =13/16, or you could put the max score in its own column. For example, put the 16 into column F, and the weighted grade would then be in column G. Then in column E put your raw score, 13, then in column F put the max score, 16, then in column G it'd be =D3*(E3/F3)

Hey Jess, I played around with the issue you're having. I think not renaming it to the same as in Sheet1 makes sense. Each table within the workbook needs to be uniquely identifiable so we can still use them in formulas. As for the font colour, we can't change the placeholder font colours but we can change the font colour of the inputs. It would be nice if we could - I like to have my placeholders a lighter gray, and it'd be good to be able to conditionally format them too.

Headers at the top, then put in your data. If you want it as a structured table, click somewhere in the data and go to Format > Convert to Table

Hey Tom, there's a couple of ways in Google Sheets. One is to use Filter Views. I don't have a video specifically on this, but I show off the basics in the video about Structured Tables. The other option is to create a Looker Studio page that links directly to your Google Sheets data.

Hi Siti, You don't need to hit the run button in Apps Script to get this to work. As long as your target is correct, you should just be able to activate the checkbox and it should just work.

Not natively that I know of. I haven't explored WhatsApp much, it's not a popular app here in New Zealand. But there might be a way to link it with zapier or pabbly. AppSheet does have advanced automation workflow built into it, so you could get it to send messages but I'm not sure about doing it through WhatsApp

It could be used for that kind of thing, but it doesn't have features like drag and drop chips. It also takes some effort to setup an whole workflow system. If you already have Airtable or Notion or similar thing setup, I wouldn't switch to Sheets for your business needs. Those are database systems, Sheets is still just a spreadsheet system. Hopefully Google will release their other product, Google Tables, sometime in the next couple of years that should be able to match the capabilities of Airtable but it's been a long time coming already.

For the in-text emojis, start typing in a cell and hold the Window Key and press the full stop (period) key. If you're a Mac, I have no clue. This opens up the emoji and symbols options. For the ones I switched out, I have no clue where they came from. Just typed into Google "Stop emoji" and "Pause emoji"

Oh you're right! I just tested it and same thing happened. This is because the target cell is being updated. Instead, we'd need a script to keep the time stamp the same. Open up Apps Script and paste this in. I've set it to work on Sheet1, when you change the cells in Column C it'll put the timestamp into column D. The select all feature does work, it's just a bit inverted. First, you need to have all of Column B selected. Then you can click on the Select All and it'll select all the checkboxes. Then to deselect individual items, you deselect the Column B checkboxes. It's required this way with because we're not using any Apps Scripts. The formula that makes it work is in C3 to first check if the Select All is ticked, and then to check the individual checkboxes in column B. To have a select all that doesn't require two columns would need an Apps Script. Download a fresh version of the spreadsheet I created. I've added it into the Select All tab. what he is forgetting to tell you is that in the data validation of the check boxes that are subject to the select all button he changed the "unchecked" cell value to be blank (backspaced to nothing) this allows the select all button to work because it is no longer overwriting the "False" that used to be in the unchecked check boxes. Hope this makes sense

Unfortunately, yes. I only just found this out a few days ago when I had to do some treasurer invoicing. To make matters worse, the notification we get is that the quota is 25 per week - the wording hasn't been updated yet. I'll email them and let them know. It's kinda disappointing, but that's how business goes. I did approach them to try get some kind of deal with my viewers but they don't do that kinda thing. I'll work on getting a different solution out within the next month.

Wow those are pretty big issues! I'll try recreate them in my sheets and report back if I can replicate the problems. Over time it will get better - they've already made one update where we can go back to the table options instead of just seeing the filter actions, so they are keeping an eye on things.

@@HashAliNZ thanks. Also there are some controls that don't seem to work when accessing from tablets or cell phones. Slicers dont work for example. I think I will have to write apps with google apps scripts. I am curious whether we can access the tables and columns with some new functions. Something like getSheetByName - I guess a getTableByName would be handy.

Yeah those would be good additions. Unfortunately we can't activate scripts from mobile devices. There are a couple ways around this, like using onEdit scripts triggered by things like checkboxes. Another is to trigger scripts using Google Form triggers. Lots of workarounds but would be nice to just be able to have it more accessible

Absolutely. It doesn't have quite the same features, but it works pretty well. One thing I thought I was losing my mind over was the Update button in Docs. It only shows when a change is made in the original Table, but yeah it's there.
